BOLTON TRIATHLON

The BOLTON BLAST is back!

The Original Bolton Blast was one of the first multi-sport events in Bolton. The event ran from 1995 until 2003 and attracted some of the best  athletes in the region, many of whom are still active in the triathlon community today.

The original format was a 500m swim at Turton Sports Centre followed by a 10k run around Entwistle reservoir.

We wanted to recreate the original event to celebrate 20 years since the last Bolton Blast and to remain true to the original principles which were to offer an affordable event for both elite athletes novices. We will be running three events in October, February and March with each event getting longer.  In order to support and encourage the novice athlete to compete we have partnered with Peak XV Coaching who will be offering training and coaching opportunities in the lead up to the race.

For the non-swimmer or those who don’t enjoy running we are offering a relay option where one person will swim, and their partner will run. No friends who want to take part? – no problem we will be able to link swimmers with runners.

Each of the three events will support a local charity so Event 1 will support Bolton Hospice.
